Description
1966 Ford Galaxie Convertible rare RHD UK car, build in Canada and registered in the UK in 1967 where it has lived its whole life and had 6 owners. Being a historic car it is MOT, Tax and ULEZ exempt and with cheap classic insurance makes for a fantastic investment.
It has a 390 V8 with a Holley 2 barrel which runs as smooth as butter but delivers plenty of grunt, paired to an auto box. This car drives as well as any classic car I have had and being a RHD it couldn’t be easier to use with all lights and heating working and power steering to help you cruise down the road. It has no problem keeping up with modern traffic.
The bodywork is straight, but the paint isn’t amazing with some cracked filler, flat spots but only a small amount of bubbling in the rear quarter. It is certainly presentable but is no show pony but thankfully is solid underneath and there are signs of previous repair patches so it has been well looked after.. The bumpers have been chrome vinyl wrapped (not by me) and the rear has a crack so ideally would be replaced (new bumpers are available from the US for £350).
The hood is new and the hydraulic mechanism has had new rams and the motor has been re-built so it now works brillianly with the roof going up and down smoothly on the button.
The interior is nice black vinyl with lap belts in the front and VERY comfortable seats. There is a period looking bluetooth stereo inkeeping with the car's apperance.
This car is ready to roll and driven away and would make a perfect, useable weekend classic or summer daily. It is not perfect cosmetically, but is a rare, sought after car that would make anyone proud.
The car can be viewed and test driven by appointment in Wilden, Bedfordshire and I am able to take PX at trade value for classic cars and motorcycles. I am able to assist with delivery if needed, please message for a price.
