Description
Porsche 356 B Roadster D'Itieren T5 1600s from 09/ 1961 - European origin - Matching Numbers & Color - French collector's registration - Full service history - Porsche Certificate of Conformity and Authenticity - D'Itieren certificate - Appraisal report - Duplicate keys, original tools etc... This extremely rare Porsche 356 Roadster B T5 1600s underwent a thorough restoration several years ago. The immortal Porsche 356 Speedster was replaced at the end of 1958 by the more refined 356 Cabriolet D, the 'D' representing their coachbuilder Drauz. These new 356 convertibles retained much of the racing spirit of the Speedster, but with the improved practicality of a slightly higher windscreen, manually winding door windows and a close-fitting soft top. As the Roadster replaced the Cabriolet D, and with the advent of the 356 B with T5 bodywork, Porsche continued to subcontract production to coachbuilders Drauz and D'Itieren. Of the 2, 900 356 Roadsters produced by Porsche, only 473 left the D'Itieren workshops in 1961. Which makes this car a true rarity. According to the D'Itieren certificate, it rolled off the production line on 31 August 1961. What's more, this is the 1600S version (of which only around fifty are still in production today).
