Description
This really super bike is a rare find: 2 owners from new and still almost original. I bought it in 2005 when it was brought over from Germany. The bike is still on a kms odometer and is MOT’d until 24 May 2025
I’ve done my best to keep it original, the only non-original items being:
• Rear shock
• Braided front hose
• Collector box removed (when it corroded).
• Battery (2 years ago, kept on trickle charge when not being used)
• Additional screen deflector (easily removed, original screen is not drilled).
The bike is in on a K plate (1993) and in very good condition indeed. It has all factory extras such as a kickstart, heated grips, brush guards, hazard warnings and panniers. It’s been ridden regularly, mainly in the dry, with a fair amount of kms on the continent. The easiest way to describe the bike is to list any specific lifetime wear, thus:
• some wear to topcoat near/ at RHS junction of tank and seat (see pic);
• lock cover tag missing on glove box;
• glove box inner paintwork is patchy (see pic);
• cylinder crash bars, rocker covers, oil cooler and headlight guard show paint wear;
• keyfob has marked the dash;
• tiny hole in seat cover.
Tyres are reasonable.
This bike is as you would expect a nice original spec GSPD to be that’s been looked after and kept in fine condition, but ridden and used regularly over the years.
Bike has been kept dry and garaged. I don’t have enough time (or the proper facilities) to do major services on the bike myself so, over the years, it has been professionally serviced and looked after by BMW airhead specialists who are or have been known in the trade – Richard DiFazio, James Sherlock and Andrew Sexton. This is a great example of this classic model with the huge petrol tank. The bike is only for sale as I'm just not using it enough these days. In an ideal world I’d keep it and bring it back to completely mint original condition, but I don’t have the time or the facilities to make that happen so I’d rather it went to a good home.
