Description
This stunning R100 GS was built during 2020 in Spain by a former HPN engineer now retired there, using HPN NOS parts as a replica of the exact bike that Gaston Rahier rode to victory in the 1985 Paris - Dakar. The mechanic is passionate about BMW Boxer machines and dedicated many hours taking care of every last detail. The donor engine was completely disassembled, refurbished and reassembled as per the Factory bikes of the time.
The speedo is showing 5k/ m since the complete transformation into what is pictured, complete with an original and very rare Acerbis plastic fuel tank. The standard R100GS frame has been reinforced to factory specification and fitted with longer travel forks and rear suspension units, mated to an extended swing arm.
The bike has recently been MOT’d and recommissioned by Noel Fletcher of Fourways Motorcycles, Edenfield, who is a passionate specialist of BMW’s from this period. Noel has pronounced the drivetrain as perfect and as crisp as the day it was built.
This magnificent Paris - Dakar Factory Replica recently featured at the London Bike Shed show in Tobacco Dock, where it was the star of the Rally section. Please don't hesitate to get in touch regarding any further information.
