Description
This is my 1961 Series II Land Rover for sale. I have owned this a couple of times through selling and buying it back once, however I've decided that its time to part ways. I have too many vehicles and don't have the time or get the usage out of it- thus I have decided to sell.
It is a 109 pickup finished in Welsh grey with the 2 and a quarter litre petrol engine, mated to a 4 speed manual gearbox (with low box and selectable 4 wheel drive) I have recently had the engine retimed and tuned by a specialist so it now runs better than ever.
It a lovely vehicle it just needs a new owner to give it some attention and use it.
-The good points
-Engine runs like a clock - with recent tune and lift pump. (I was told it was rebuilt in 2000, however no paperwork to prove unfortunately)
-Steers nice with 2 new front tyres
-Tax and MOT exempt
-Genuine series II not a IIA
-Rare 109 pickup variant
-
-The bad points - a wheel cylinder has let go, have a couple on order and plan to carry out this work.
-The paint on the bulkhead corners has chipped revealing some surface rust (had a new bulkhead approx. 7 years ago)
-The door tops have started to rust and probably want replacing (unless you plan to take the roof off?)
-Some filler has cracked just underneath the fuel filler neck, and in a couple of other places.
-I believe the indicators have stopped working for some reason.
-Underneath is solid as it had a bit of welding in the past. (can send photos before viewing)
Please don't let this put you off, I'm trying to give an honest state of the vehicle. If you are interested please call me on: the details below and if I don't answer please leave a message and I will get back to you.
Probably a sensible idea to trailer her away. Cash or bank transfer on collection please. Viewings welcome.
