Description
This is a rare nowadays desirable early Mini Cooper 'S' that has not been for sale since the 1970's. Only three owners since then including me.
The colour is white with a black roof and not just white.
First registered 20. 3. 1964 it is an Austin variant of the much loved Cooper 'S' with in my opinion the best engine - the 1071cc. She is in very good and solid condition with a few areas that will need attention eventually so in other words she is in very useable condition and not a concours trailer queen. She starts first time and runs well.
I am NOT selling the vehicle with warranted mileage however it would not surprise me if it was correct having gone around the clock. There is a lot of paperwork with the car:
The original green logbook
The original blue V5
The current V5C
The previous V5C x 2
Various tax discs back to 1964
BMIHT Certificates dated 20. 2. 1997 and 9. 2. 2022
Practically all the MOT certificates dating back to 1997
Lots of old invoices from 1995 to 2015
The car was previously in the ownership of a Brendon Chappell who lived and worked in the Warrington area and ran an engineering shop which prepared Minis and Escorts etc. He had this car in his yard for a good decade but then he was killed at a crossroads in the USA.
He left it in his will to a local solicitor Adrian Albinson who received her in about 1993. Most of the paperwork exists since that time and especially after 1997 when a lot of restoration work was carried out.
The interior was changed and it now has full leather (or faux leather I am not sure which) interior seating.
There is always with Minis a huge amount placed on the original shell aspect. This is being sold as 'make your own mind up' as I have no idea whether it is original or not (even though I have no reason to suspect that it is not and there is no evidence that it was changed) but it has received a major restoration and may have non-period parts fitted.
The question on the 'structural issues' from the website only asks yes or no. I have said no as I not think it has had major structural work such as after an accident. It has been restored but I only believe that it was a sound car then that needed 'doing up'.
I have supplied a lot of pictures but if you want anything else please just let me know.
This will make someone a great car. The only reason I now have it for sale is because I have other Minis and I was going to have this fully restored but have decided against it.
The registration number is the original I believe and is with the car at this price.
