Description
Project Pre-65 Trials T20 Triumph Tiger Cub
This project Triumph Tiger Cub is a good start for a T20 historic trials competition motorcycle. It’s a rolling project that has never started. So, what you see is what i have.
The frame number is for a 1962 motorbike and the engine number is for a 1959 bike.
What you are getting is:
1962 Frame with clear stamped numbers.
1959 Engine. Well most of it anyway. No primary cover. The engine will need a complete rebuild.
Swing arm attached. This is a standard width swing arm.
Rear sub-frame. In decent condition and unmolested with regard to any Trials modificatons.
A set of heavy duty front forks. I am not certain that these are Cub heavy duty forks but they do the job
Front wheel, laced, with hub
Rear wheel, laced with std hub and trials type sprocket.
Rear brake foot lever
Rear brake plate with trials-type actuator
A Cub fuel tank.
Oil tank
Mudguard
I also have a second hand set of sammy millar trials foot rests/ brake set up that can go with the project and can probably help in sourcing other parts through various contacts if required.
Frame number is 5 numbers, beginning with 865xx (1962 year)
Engine number is 5 numbers beginning with 458xx (1959 year)
No documents with the bike. However, it’s not difficult to get a new V5. If you join the TOMCC (Triumph Club), a very nice chap called Richard will help with the application for a very reasonable cost for his time.
The pictures mostly tell you what you need to know.
It seems that Pre-65 Triumph T20 Tiger Cubs are very popular as they keep us all involved in our hobby / sport when the bigger bikes become just too heavy. Here’s a great opportunity to build your own Trials Cub.
Please contact for any further details. Great pre 65 trials or Road going cub project
