Description
Rover 75 2. 5 V6 Club automatic. An exceptionally nice, low mileage example in extremely good condition for its year, with one elderly owner for almost all of its life, who garaged it and cherished it.
As a result it's in exceptionally rust-free condition for a car registered in the year 2000 – the underside, wheel arches, engine compartment, sills, etc., really are superb and the Moonstone Green paint is believed to be original and generally in great condition. I have seen many, but few this sound.
The interior is near perfect too, super clean and original. The leather seats and virtually unworn, including the driver's. This is an early and desirable pre 'Project Drive' example and so has the real wood dashboard, which is excellent, and better carpets. Its original factory Rover 'luxury' overmats are almost like new.
Mechanically it is very good, as you'd expect for a 68k mile car – and has just undergone significant reconditioning. It has recently had new cambelts, auxiliary belt, water pump, etc., plus crank position sensor, new front and rear brake discs and pads, new front Continental tyres, new catalytic convertor, new plugs and air, cabin filters, fresh engine oil and filter, full coolant flush, and new automatic gearbox oil. New track control arms and bushes have been fitted, plus new drop links and anti-roll bar bushes, to tighten up the drive and eliminate suspension clonks.
The result is a car that rides beautifully. Super-smooth, it wafts along with ease in a 'classic Jaguar' sort of way. It feels strong, stable and secure, however. It's a lovely mix of modern and classic in the way it drives.
Although generally of a very high standard, there are a few light scratches to the bodywork, caused by the elderly previous owner going in and out of his garage. These are relatively easy, minor cosmetic fixes. I'm selling because I have a big restoration project coming, and sadly need the space. I think you'll have a hard time finding such a well preserved and thoroughly serviced example of the desirable 2. 5 V6 Rover 75.
It's especially nice with the Moonstone Green metallic paint and beige leather interior, and early pre-Project Drive spec. As expected, it passed its last MOT in July 2024 with no advisories.
It's really rather special! I have a couple of other classics on sale and am secretly hoping they sell first and I get to keep this!
