Description
Morris MM Four Door Saloon.
Registered in Coventry on November 4th 1952.
2 previous owners when I purchased the vehicle in October 2022.
The car is original other than the wheels and engine. The engine has been treated to the much sort after but very rare Alta over head valve conversion. This significantly increases the engine performance enabling the car to fit in with today's traffic conditions.
It is currently running on the later Morris Oxford type wheels and tyres.
The previous owner used to show the car on a regular basis and it has had lots of success over the years. It has been used on the front cover of a number of magazines and also featured in many magazine editorials over its life with its second owner, some of which are attached to the extensive file history that will be supplied with the car. When I purchased the car in 2022, it was partially stripped of its front and rear wings, Bonnet, Boot, Front and Rear Bumpers, along with the Front Suspension.
I have carried out the following refurbishment of the car:
The entire front and rear suspension has been removed. Each component has been degreased prepped, epoxy primed and painted. Re-bushed with Pollybushes, reassembled and set-up on the car. New upper and lower trunnions have been fitted.
Whilst the front and rear suspension were off the car, the old wax oil was removed from the under side of the body. Some areas of minor surface corrosion was treated with Fertan rust killer. These areas were epoxy primed, then Dynax S50 was applied to the entire inside of the car.
The brakes have been totally stripped and rebuilt. All four brake cylinders have been replaced, along with new brake linings and brake hoses.
The rear axle has been stripped, degreased, prepped and painted. New oil seals have been installed.
The rear leaf springs have been striped to individual leaves. These have been degreased, wire brushed, epoxy primed, and painted before being reassembled with new rubbers.
The entire car has been re-wired using an Autosparks fabric wrapped loom.
New interior carpets and door seals have been fitted.
The distributor has been refurbished by Distributor Doctor.
