Description
1969 Morris Minor 1000 2 door in Snowberry White.
Very low recorded mileage, believed genuine (50k). I've owned this car since 2015, and it's been absolutely wonderful. I've only covered about 10k miles in that time but it's been from my home in Bristol to Manchester, London, Devon and Cornwall without any problem. Mega-reliable, cheap to run, easy parts availability and gets lots of attention when we are out and about. It is MOT exempt, road tax free and LEZ compliant.
In my ownership, I’ve had it fitted with:
Electronic ignition distributor
Alternator
Halogen headlamps
Two new front wings
New clutch
Two new wheels and tyres
Many new brake parts (shoes, drums)
Otherwise an unmolested, unmodified example - use as it is or bring up to A1 standard. The photos do make it look better than it is, but it's pretty good - just don't expect a concours car.
Bad points -
It has blue front seats where the rest of the interior is black (from a Wolseley I think, so they’re very comfy - I put black seat covers on them.)
Needs a new card parcel shelf insert - I removed it to give more footroom over the pedals.
The front wings' paint match isn't perfect. They were sprayed in the correct colour so the rest of the car must have faded slightly. If you keep it long enough it'll match perfectly!
So in summary, a good condition 2 car that has served us superbly well but I've other classics to focus on, so it’s time for someone else to enjoy this wonderful Morris! A great starter classic that can be used immediately and should only appreciate in value. Inspection welcome.
