Description
On its launch in 1976, BMW’s 6-Series line of executive coupés really possessed quite a presence on the roads. Good-looking, well-engineered and luxurious, the first generation (E24) was built until 1989. A number of different models with different engines were offered, and the 635CSi was the flagship of the fleet, which in 1984 used the M30B34 overhead-cam straight-six. Equipped with Bosch electronic fuel injection, this was a refined engine good for 215bhp.
Designed by the legendary Paul Bracq, the 635CSi’s combination of style and engineering ensured that sold well, hence its long production run. It was given an extra lease of life in 1982, when the E24 line was revamped on a new platform, so that it benefitted from updated styling and new engines. The 635CSi was made available with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox, so it could be a car for the enthusiastic weekend driver or the working city professional.
Our car a BMW 635 CSI 1985 Automatic, is first hand from a very old lady owner and with only 60300 km or 37500 miles from new, documented by its service book. The fifth tire Michelin TRX in the trunk is almost new.
The car is never restored and still has its first original color from the factory, silver metallic and a magnolia-cream color leather interior.
It has a very good body and a very good underbody. It needs a repaint in its silver metallic color or better in light blue metallic color with which the car will have an excellent appearance and a new interior upholstery on front seats as it was parked outside a Villa’s garage for a few years. Missing parts as the side mirrors, the two projectors and all emblems will be given with the car.
There is no rust at all. A service was done two years ago by a BMW specialist and it’s again a good runner.
All cars 635 CSI after 1983 are technologically superior.
This car is from the last and refined generation of BMW 635 CSi that lasted from late 1983 to 1989.
BMW 635 CSi from this last generation and with so low km traveled are much more expensive in the market.
It will be sold with very nice BBS wheels 15” and new tires, with a set of special BMW M3 wheels of 18”, as with its original wheels which are for only Michelin TRX tires of special dimension.
A real occasion for a European Specifications and first hand BMW 635 CSi 1985 with very few documented km.
