It's worth noting that pre-1983 Phase 1s are eligible for the Monte Carlo Historic Rally, although this one has never been raced. It's a collector's car, true to its origins => This car has spent its entire life in Western Europe, in 4 successive countries. It was delivered new in Italy, where it stayed for a long time, before moving to the Netherlands for a few years => Just before me, it belonged to a Belgian collector who owned a number of old cars, some of them very exceptional. He therefore had the means and the desire to maintain this car. He had a lot of work done on it during the 7 years he owned it => I bought the car in 2023 and continued his work to finish it in even greater detail. I really like this 635, which runs like a charm and has proven to be impeccably reliable over all distances, but I've decided to sell it and move on to an even older BMW. Condition: Exterior: The body was repainted in its original colour in 2016. The work was carried out with care and the finish is of good quality. The original BBS wheels were repainted at the same time. The original chrome is extremely well preserved. The headlights and lights are in good condition, as are all the other decorative accessories. Interior: The light beige leather interior creates an elegant colour contrast. The leathers are original and, on the whole, very beautiful. The dashboard and rear parcel shelf covers (sensitive elements) are in very good condition on this example, proof that the car has always slept sheltered from the sun. The beige carpets are also in good condition. The vintage-style radio blends in well with the dashboard, while the Bluetooth function is ideal for listening to your best-off from the 70s and 80s, with the vocals of the 6-cylinder engine in the background. A trip back in time guaranteed! Mechanicals: Without being able to justify it on the basis of invoices, the previous owner told me that he had had the entire upper engine rebuilt (cylinder head gasket, valve stem gaskets, etc). A look at the engine compartment leaves no doubt as to the veracity of his statements. The road test also confirms it: the engine is in excellent health, powerful and torquey. It never overheated and consumed very little oil for such an engine, which is a good indicator. The Getrag dog-leg gearbox is ideal for back roads. Its short ratios and the fact that second gear is opposite third gear contribute to good performance. Suspension-wise, everything is in order. No abnormal play, no rattles. The car holds the road very well and is surprisingly lively! The previous owner fitted a stainless steel chassis, which produces an ideal sound, without being overdone. The alternator and driveshaft are new. For sale, the car is fully serviced. Structure: The car is very sound overall, with no signs of corrosion. To the best of my knowledge, the car has never been involved in an accident.
