1996 Ford Escort RS2000 4x4 in Alberto Green.
With the market for fast Fords still as strong as ever the search for more and more rare cars gets more difficult however if you are looking for rarity, then you have found Something of a gem here.
Ford produced only 500 of these cars with only 350 of them making it onto the road with 150 of them being sidetracked for race and rally cars…. currently there are only two of these 4WD versions registered on the road with around 30 Sorned.
I think the colour is Alberto green which is the rarest colour in the 4WD form….. the interior is very 1990s which adds to its charm.
This car is very original and has had zero modifications which I think is brilliant.
She drives superbly and even for a 28 year-old car is surprisingly nippy.
She benefits from an MOT test which expires at the end of August 2025…….
On the outside, there are a couple of stone chips in The Paint but hardly recognisable until you stand 8 inches away from the car, The correct alloy wheels are in great condition with all of the original centre caps in place also surrounded by premium tyres….
The inside is in excellent condition. The headlining on the sunroof is a little bit saggy and on the passenger door the card lining has also sagged very slightly however a bit of a steam clean will tighten this back up.
I’m only trying to be completely honest regarding the car and as I would always suggest it’s probably best to come and have a look at the old thing and make your own mind up.
There is a file of handbooks invoices and service history along with the V5 logbook ready to transfer into the new owners name.
The five speed manual gearbox is sharp and the clutch performs exactly as it should, the engine bay is in really good condition with no signs of rust deterioration in the normal places.
There is only one other 4WD versions for sale in the less desirable black with the same mileage (slightly higher) which is for sale for £15, 000. I think my one for sale at £10, 000 is an absolute steal.

The car was subjected to an insurance claim a few years ago due to damage to the front driver-side wing and front bumper which as you can see by the photographs has been superbly repaired.
