Description
1970 Land Rover Series 88” 2A 2. 25 Diesel
Galvanised Chassis, Bulkhead & front panel!
Genuine late ‘lights in wing’ model with correct original Maltese cross style grille
Been in my family for last 18 years.
It’s not an original station wagon, the safari roof and 4 individual tip up rear seats were fitted when it was rebuilt on its galvanised chassis around 16 years ago. Still has its original dumb iron with factory stamped chassis number to go with it.
Had loads of money spent when it was rebuilt back in 2007 with new doors, bumper, all cappings, windscreen surround and loads of fittings re-galvanised, new fabric braided wiring loom in correct colours, copper brake lines, front seats, new fuel tank, rocky mountain spin on oil filter upgrade, glow plug upgrade.
Many original optional extras fitted including genuine series 2 fly screens, adjustable front seat bases, overdrive, MAP free-wheeling front hubs, side steps and light guards.
Lots of money recently spent in the last year including:
• New GME parabolic springs and OEM Armstrong shocks
• New brakes all round with new TRW Lucas master cylinder and wheel cylinders
• New Lucas ignition switch
• Front swivels rebuilt
• New full exhaust system
• New 3-piece clutch kit,
• New front and rear props
• New speedo cable
• Overdrive selector shaft seal replaced
• New diff pinion seals
• New Transfer box output shaft seals
• Front timing cover crank seal
• New fuel filler neck pipe
• New track rod ends
Just been serviced with all fluids replaced, oil filter, diesel filter, new Lucas washer pump and wiper blades.
Priced sensibly to take into account it’s no show queen, the body work and paint needs attention if you wanted it to look like the restored example it essentially is underneath! I now have a young family and just don’t get the spare time to tinker and enjoy it.
Comes with folder full of receipts and paperwork along with 2 sets of keys.
