This all original 2001 Rover 75 is the mid-range ‘Club CDT Automatic’ model powered by the 2 litre BMW diesel engine.
The paintwork has a protective coating which was an optional extra when purchased new and gives the car that ‘wet look’ appearance as well as the protection it affords. In its 23 years it has only required a small section of the sills, near the rear wheels, to be repaired. Any inspection to the bodywork and underside is welcomed.
The interior is essentially unmarked (front foot wells excepted) and has green fabric seats and green and cream trim to the door panels, dash and roof lining.
Its superb condition is due, to a large extent, to the diligence of the first owner who used the car up until March 2023 and had the car serviced every year without fail, irrespective of the mileage. This low mileage Rover has not been stored and so does not suffer from the problems of not being used. Its regular use and being kept in a domestic garage away from the elements has further enhanced its condition.
In my ownership I have maintained the annual service and have had age-related repairs carried out by a locally respected garage. These repairs, which will be well known to Rover 75 enthusiasts, include replacement of the thermostat (in the correct position), the cure of water ingress to the boot via the rear light cluster gasket, new Rear Springs and Suspension Arms and the re-instatement of the remote boot opening. New Goodyear ‘EfficientGrip’ 195/ 65R15 tyres were fitted; front 2, 964 miles ago and rear 86 miles ago. The previous tyres showed no sign of side scuffing. A new 75 Ah battery was fitted on 17 June 2024.
The Rover was last serviced on 10th October 2024.
The MOT is due on 10th March 2025.
Being the mid-range specification, the car does not have all the ‘bells and whistles’ of the V6 but it does have more than the basic essentials which include:-
Air conditioning, front and rear parking sensors, front and rear screen heaters/ demisters, remote controlled door mirrors, remote boot opening, Radio cassette player (conversion to modern headerunit is possible), normal, sports and snow mode gear selection, electric windows front and rear.
