The car is in collector's condition, identical to the original model and conforms to the original specifications (parts, details etc). Always parked in a garage, with protective cover.
- Bodywork and exterior plastics in perfect condition. Paintwork redone in 2017, no dents, no major scratches, no corossion - Interior perfectly preserved: front and rear seats not stained, not worn, no holes and not deformed. Carpets, headlining and interior plastics very clean with no major defects - Mechanics impeccable & professionally maintained. CT dated 27/ 05/ 24 valid for 5 years = only 1 defect noted and no counter-inspection = slipping. Nothing to foresee and everything works (see below list of recent maintenance and 3 minor malfunctions). The vehicle was imported by the SEAT SA MADRID network in February 1989 (copy of document). Registered for the first time in Spain in March 1989, it has remained there ever since, in a climate conducive to perfect preservation. The previous owner, a collector, had registered it as a historic vehicle in Spain = a complete expertise procedure, different from a simple French CG collection (copy of the very complete 13-page report). I also have the Spanish CT reports (ITV) from 2012. Not bought on an auction platform, but directly through an acquaintance in Spain in 2022. No surprises, nothing to hide, everything is said. - Blaupunkt car radio, Amsterdam model TCM 127 with Keycard anti-theft system (early 90s) + Blaupunkt 10 CD changer of the same period + 6 speakers. - Original 5-cassette holder. - Golf ball gear knob. - Centralised and remote locking early 90s (2 remote controls). - Electric windows. - MFA on-board computer. - Windscreen with integrated green anti-sun strip.
- Manual radio aerial on original front left wing (with anti-theft key & extraction). - Quality front and rear floor mats with "Golf GTI" embroidery and red stitching (2022). - New wheel.
- Custom-made interior cover for Golf 2 in polyester fabric (fleece interior), red and flocked with VW/ Original 1989 logo and storage bag - Manufacturer's label still in the boot and legible. Recent maintenance: - Left-hand cardan shaft bellows (May 2022).
- BOSCH battery (November 2022, invoice) - Complete refurbishment of cooling system by professional: change radiator, calorostat, water pump and belt, coolant tank, all flexible and rigid hoses, various contactors + timing belt kit (June 2023, professional invoices).
- Clutch + release bearing kit (June 2023, professional invoices). 2 vintage Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 front tyres for youngtimers (May 2024, invoice). As already stated, there is nothing to be expected mechanically. Minor malfunctions that are not serious: - Daily km counter can no longer be reset to zero (pin pushed in). Speeds 1 and 2 on the interior fan have not worked for a very long time (early summer 2024). Speed 3 does work, however (expect to pay around forty euros to change the blower motor) - Random LCD display on the car radio.
