Cheaper than a divorce lawyer and much quicker! - Mercedes still (thankfully) delivers big V8 AMG models, even if they're not as big as they used to be. Even the G63 AMG now has to make do with a souped-up 4. 0-litre. As far as we're concerned, it was much better back then.... Back then, there was the SL55 AMG with an engine that made no mistake about its name: a 5. 4-litre M113 under the bonnet with 501bhp from Stuttgart. This engine is also found in the SLR McLaren, with over 600bhp.
The sound of a slightly older AMG is phenomenal. As soon as the rev counter hits 6, 000 rpm, you're rewarded with a powerful combination of roar and howl. All preconceptions surrounding the car have disappeared and everyone slowly agrees that this is a beloved young car. A perfect combination, if you ask us: today's finest things (every modern comfort option imaginable: air conditioning, heated seats, electric seats and roof), but with the authentic AMG DNA of the "old" car.
Of course, our SL55 AMG stands out even more from the rest with its stunning and distinctive colour scheme (Designo Mocca Black exterior and two-tone full leather interior) and its very unique mileage. Everything works as we've come to expect from a Mercedes. In short, one of the best AMGs ever made!
