Description
FERRARI 330 GT 2+2 SERIE 1 1964 Chassis N°6341 V12- 4. 0l - 300cv BOITE MANUELLE 4 RAPPORTS Barely more than 1000 examples produced for the replacement for the 275 GTE 2+2, which arrived on the market in 1963.
Produced in two series (4 headlamps until 1965, then 2 headlamps until 1967), our example is part of the first, numbered oddly from 4963 to 7533, of which only 625 were produced. The elegant lines of the 330 GT 2+2 are the work of Pininfarina. Its twin headlamps give it a very US style, while its almond-shaped rear lights challenge the style of its predecessor, the 250. A sign of this model's distinction are its aluminium spoked wheels by Borrani. Under the bonnet is the famous 4. 0-litre Ferrari V12, fed by 3 WEBER 40 carburettors and producing almost 300 bhp. A pure marvel! This model was originally fitted with the codified '209' version, all mated to a 4-speed gearbox + overdrive, as on most of the Series 1s. A 5-speed gearbox would be fitted from the Series 2 onwards. Finally, the real plus point of this GT was its wheelbase, which gave it room for 4 passengers. This particular model has the distinction of being owned by a famous French yachtsman, who is also a seasoned motor sports enthusiast with a track record in rally-raids, particularly the Dakar in the 90's. As a connoisseur of the motoring world and a great collector, he has owned this beautiful car for 4 years and takes great care of it. His knowledge of mechanical engineering has enabled him to tame this Ferrari V12, which is regularly maintained. As for the bodywork, the car was restored and repainted a few years ago. It has a slight patina that gives it its charm, and the chrome is in excellent condition and shiny. A visit to the deck allowed us to see the good condition of the underpinnings and chassis, which have been restored in the past. The interior is also in very good condition, having also been restored over time by its previous owners. The upholstery is virtually new. The dashboard is faultless. The carpets are in good condition, and the three-spoke steering wheel is also in excellent condition. On the engine side, the owner recently decided to replace the braking system with more efficient callipers. A Ferrari specialist reviewed the engine settings. The fuel system has been made more reliable to avoid vapor lock. All the oil changes have been carried out: engine, gearbox, axle and brakes. The good health of the engine since the purchase of the car has not required any major work, but rather regular routine maintenance and carburettor adjustments, according to its owner. A rocket with discreet lines that can also accommodate 4 passengers. The 330 GT is definitely a winner! Visible by appointment only.
