Highlights
- Extensive recent rebuild
- Detailed retro ‘aged’ look
- New engine, fuel tank and rewired
- Distinctive and unusual Vespa
The Appeal
For certain classic scooter collectors, this unusual Vespa L may be the best of both worlds. It looks like a well used, classic ‘59 Vespa, but it runs very much like a brand new one.
That unusual combination is down to the comprehensive recent restoration by the seller. The paintwork was stripped back and refinished in a retro used style, not unlike the rat look popular with car customisers. Beneath that there is a brand new 125cc engine. It has also been fully rewired and re-cabled and fitted with a new fuel tank. The new parts continue with a replacement quality Aquila saddle, new tyres and new side steps and odometer.
As an alternative to a restored scooter in ‘just left the showroom’ condition, this one looks very tempting.
