Highlights
- Pretty cream over olive green colour scheme
- Very tidy car in good condition
- Rare and comfortable Touring-built Spider
- Good history file of ongoing maintenance
The Appeal
The Tipo 102 was typically Alfa Romeo. To the compelling twin cam mechanicals Touring penned and built a beautiful Spider body that drew inspiration from Ferraris but was very much its own thing.
Most of the 3,443 Spiders built went to America, a market that particularly appreciated the Latinate looks and relaxed and comfortable GT credentials. This one was built in November 1960 and despatched to Belgium in October 1961.
Now residing in Austria, it is in lovely condition. The cream paintwork is complemented by a very tasteful olive green interior, all in good order throughout. It sits on high quality Borrani wires. In very good running order, this is a very tempting example of one of Alfa Romeo’s most rewarding GT cars.

The Mechanics
- 1,975cc twin cam 115bhp 4cyl Alfa Romeo engine
- Twin carburettors
- 5spd manual gearbox
- No reported running or driving issues
Beneath all that sculptured Touring body lies some typically Alfa Romeo engineering. The 2litre twin cam was inherited from the 1900 and delivers a healthy 115bhp through its twin carburettors.
This car is reputed to be a matching numbers example and we are told it is in very good running order. That makes it perfect for touring and weekend trips where its relaxing demeanour can be fully appreciated.
