The Appeal
While the Corvette would go on to become an icon of pop culture, it's a sad truth that the C1 wasn't quite the explosive seller that Chevrolet had hoped for. More's the pity - there was a beguiling combination of decidedly European characteristics in the design, and its performance was enviable. Perhaps it was ahead of its time - after a couple of years, it had managed to find an impressive audience, with that glorious art deco bodywork still shining against the competition.
This particular example stands out with its striking red paint and white side panels, having been comprehensively restored in the past. It's clearly been very well looked after, and that oh-so-appealing mid-century dashboard is still proudly shining in its decidedly period-friendly cabin.
