The Appeal

Beginning production in 1964, the Mustang very quickly became the staple of what power and performance should look like. The perfect all-rounder that pretty much everybody came to lust after - and rightly so. Regardless of what your requirements for a vehicle were, the Mustang could just about fill all of them, and the staggeringly handsome looks were just a bonus!
This vehicle originally started off life as a California vehicle, factory fitted with a 289ci 2-valve V8 manufactured in San Jose and lived the vast majority of its life there. Idealistic weather conditions allowed for excellent preservation of the car, as can still be seen today. Previously owned by a man named Carlos Najera, taken on as a donor vehicle, it quickly became a labour of love and Carlos made it his goal to see this Mustang in all of its glory. After a loving ownership from Carlos, the vehicle was shipped over the UK back in 2018 where it would continue to be pampered extensively under new ownership, receiving a plethora of upgrades and kept in dry storage along with a collection of valued classics.
The vehicle now resides with another loving enthusiast, who has undertaken a massive recommissioning at an eye-watering cost of over £7,000, putting this stunning ‘stang right up there with the best of them.

The Condition

  • GT350 Type-R front valance, side scoops, metal hood scoop, rear bumper and many other finishing touches makes this a handsome Evocation of the cherished GT350
  • Panel gaps appear visually pleasing thanks to countless man hours spent on aligning bodywork during its restoration process while the vehicle was still in California
  • Brightwork appears to remain in good condition with no signs of delamination or oxidisation
  • Paintwork does have some blemishes which is to be expected, along with some bubbles present on the driver side rear pillar and on the rain channels, as well as the passenger side front pillar near the corner of the front windscreen
  • Coy C67 wheels all appear to be in good condition with no signs of damage on any corner
  • Pony Deluxe interior from CJ Pony with TMI Pony seat foam, at the time of installation the seat frames were all painted black to help prevent rust in future
  • ACC black carpets and Pony floor mats were installed along with sound deadening
  • 15” Corso wooden steering wheel with a Pony horn button
  • GT glove box
  • Dash knobs, indicator stalk, heater panel, door panels, window cranks, kick panels, window regulators, shifter assembly, chrome side mirrors and rear view mirror were all replaced while in the states
  • Pioneer speakers fitted during its restoration
  • Gauge cluster remains entirely functional and had been updated to a white faced gauge, and fitted with a new lens and bezel again in the states
This Mustang is undeniably a head turner, it retains just enough little hints of originality to still be charming while being a very admirable place to be - especially with such a well kept and specified interior. The Deluxe Pony interior is one of the most expensive options to go for when retrimming one of these coupe’s!

The Mechanics

  • Powered By Ford aluminium valve covers and matching Mustang air cleaner

  • Brakes upgraded to 4-piston Wilwood high performance calipers, which were overhauled in 2022
  • High performance three-row radiator

The vehicle is reported to remain in wonderful mechanical condition throughout thanks to careful ownership and a no-expense-spared attitude with the current keeper. Just reading through the invoices should give you an idea of how pampered this pony has been through its recent ownerships! This is a Mustang that you can happily jump in and enjoy without worrying about.
