The Appeal
Mercedes-Benz was among the first advocates of diesel engines in passenger cars. It was a German invention after all, and the first diesel Merc came along in 1935. Upon launch, the W110 "Heckflosse" could also be ordered with a diesel engine and we're delighted to offer this 1.9-litre 1968 example.
Believed to have been part of the official state fleet in Spain for most of its life, it seems this 190Dc has had a fascinating past. Since being auctioned off and registered in 1999, it has seen careful ownership, with the current owner acquiring it in July 2022. Recent work includes a thorough mechanical review, underside refurbishment, and interior improvements. If you're looking for a solid, rugged classic or simply have a penchant for these venerable old Mercedes saloons, this would be a great buy.
