The Appeal

Transforming the humble Fiat 500 into an expensive, stylish two seater sports car was a bold idea. But not a new one. Before he moved onto Maseratis, Alfa Romeos, Lancias and Ferraris, Alfredo Vignale began his illustrious design house creating coachbuilt sports cars based on Fiat’s pre-war 500 ‘Topolino.’
The Gamine may have been compact but it was big on character. High costs meant just 1,200 LHD examples left the Vignale factory between 1967 and 1970.
This 1969 car has been restored to a very high standard. The work was comprehensive, covering bodywork, paintwork, mechanicals, brakes and electrics. It has had a full engine rebuild. A bespoke fabric roof adds the extra versatility that the factory cars lacked.
The Gamine is one of 60s Italy’s most unusual and distinctive cars. It is a rare and quirky alternative to a Jolly, but exhibits the same approach to entertainment and fun. This one will be sold with a fresh Revisione before collection.
