Mint green paintwork with black sunroof and interior
Italian registration
The Appeal
One of the most famous cars to roll out of Italy, the 500’s cute, squat shape and sheer simplicity made them a practical, pretty little motor for any member of the public. They were surprisingly practical cars, perfect for the increasingly cluttered city streets, and easy to work on. It’s perhaps little wonder that nearly four million units were sold.
This example is an eminently drivable one, with a stylish mint green colour scheme, contrasted with a black Lusso interior trim and sunroof.
The History and Paperwork
Sadly we know very little about the history of this car
Built in 1971
We understand this car to be an Italian market example
It still carries an Italian registration
Currently indicates 14,530km on a five-figure odometer
We can’t verify this as authentic and it’s likely been around the clock
We’ve not been informed of any paperwork supplied with the car
The Condition
Mint green paintwork with black canvas sunroof
Largely in good order with the odd bubble or blister
We can’t see any signs of significant corrosion
Canvas roof looks like a fairly new aftermarket example
Interior in fair order with age-commensurate wear
We note a crack in the dashboard binnacle
Seats are free of rips and tears
Door cards carry some wear
Carpets are looking rather tired
Some corrosion and pitting to areas of the interior brightwork
Underneath, the car has been generously treated
It looks solid to our eyes with standard age-commensurate corrosion
The Mechanics
499cc I2 powerplant
4-speed manual transmission
Engine bay looks in good order with wear
The vendor informs us that the car starts, brakes, drives and shifts
