The Attractions
Backed by years of experience in the production of highly successful small sports cars such as the peppier Escort and Cortina models, Ford knew very well how to make top-class hot hatch cars. The original XR3 was born to fight on equal terms with the Golf GTI, while the more advanced Mk4 was further developed and improved.
Enthusiasts preferred the later 'EFI' models, equipped with Ford's more reliable electronic fuel injection system. Later cars were also more luxurious than the first models and received major styling updates.
Examples like this one are extremely rare today. It is a one-owner car, in largely faithful condition to the original factory specifications, the only cosmetic modification being the addition of a Turbo-look rear spoiler. It is well maintained and extremely original inside and out and is offered with a valid MOT. In addition, the accompanying historical documentation is truly remarkable and even includes the original purchase invoice.
