For those seeking more from their Range Rover there is a well-worn path to Overfinch. Whether that equates to more power or bespoke fittings, the firm’s reputation was founded on doing both with a subtlety befitting Land Rover’s most statesmanlike of vehicles.
The 570 set the ball rolling. Overfinch replaced the homegrown factory V8 with a muscly American transplant, a Chevrolet 5.7litre motor with 290bhp. That was a 50% hike on the standard engine. The drivetrain was similarly upgraded with buyers able to choose from an array of suspension, braking and cosmetic enhancements.
The conversion of this Classic to 570 specification dipped deeply into those reserves. Alongside the Chevy motor the halfshafts, brakes, suspension and anti-roll bars have been uprated. It has also been recently re-polybushed.
The vendor reports that there is evidence of considerable restoration from previous years, meaning that it comes to market not requiring any welding. Inside and out it presents well, being usable rather than immaculate as befits a potent working vehicle.
The 570 is a rare and quite delicious addition to the lengthy and varied Range Rover canon and this one looks enticing.
