Highlights
- One of 500 genuine factory UK market Viggens
- Factory standard 222bhp convertible
- Long MOT to May 2025 with no advisories
- Smart and well kept car inside and out
The Appeal
They didn’t call it ‘thunderbolt’ by mistake. Saab’s 9-3 Viggen is the ultimate version of the NG 900, a 222bhp tyre-scrabbling road rocket that has been dubbed ‘the last great, true Saab.’
Just 500 found their way to UK buyers. Alongside the power hike there was lower, stiffer suspension, a bigger intercooler and a performance ECU. Good examples are naturally sought-after by enthusiasts, who will no doubt be drawn in numbers to this one.
It is a well maintained, factory-standard Viggen in ‘triple black’ - black paintwork, roof and interior - that presents very well. That point is underlined by the MOT history that shows regular advisory-free tests, the current one running to May 2025, again with no advisories.
Good, practical four-seater modern classic convertibles are already a rarity. The Viggen even more so. This is a well sorted example of one of Saab’s most entertaining cars.
