Description
The Fiat 128 was in production from 1969 to 1985 and is most significant for establishing the front engine – front drivetrain of unequal driveshafts layout in the automotive world. The Dante Giacosa-conceived engineering entailed mounting the Aurelio Lambretti-designed engine adjacent to the manual gearbox providing for ample cabin passenger room. Even though 3 million units were produced, very few have survived to this day.
The one offered here has amassed only 60168 km in over 4 decades. Both owners provided utmost care to preserve the car’s authenticity, evident by its immaculate interior, its damage-free and rust-free body with all original glass, including original manuals and tools. The paint did receive a partial respray in Salvia Green and the engine is fully maintained for the vehicle to be driven or preserved for the years to come.
