Description
Not to sure where to start with this GT750! Would you like to buy a GT750 asks the seller? Why yes indeed my good man, splendid idea i say and if you believe that well... Bought by us as a 100% complete bike but in bits, apart from the motor that had been out, checked over and back in the frame plus the front and rear ends loosely in place to aid transport, the rest was in boxes. Like all good builds, of course it was not all there, clocks and switch gear were away being restored as was the middle cylinder exhaust down pipe (all important as being the rare L model with the linked exhaust down pipes, its made of “unobtanium” and eventually a year later these parts did arrive) then just about every small item was missing while some other major parts were either wrong to the bike or just not useable. The good news was it did come with new paintwork, new seat, “eventually” as close to new clocks and switches as you can get, new radiator crash bars and surround, fully restored carburettors , new indicators. new rear light and a freshly repainted frame.
So we started at the front and over the next year or so sourced the missing parts, replacing and restoring as we went. I cannot sit here and type every thing that was done so please if interested do that old fashioned thing and ring me, happy to talk you through everything i can remember we did front to back. The end result, so people that have seen it tell me, is a very very nice rare, one year only GT750L, which while not being a concourse restoration, aint half bad! Priced at probably less than it cost to do but hey-ho the lesson there is not to buy bikes in boxes! G
