Unusually for us, this very nice 72 YR5 came to us pretty well as you see it, needing not much more than a good clean to get the dust off .
As you can see in the pictures, it is in lovely all round condition with nice original chrome work ( very minor scuff on the leading edge of the front guard see pic) and nice paint work with very few signs of age. In fact unless it's been kept in a locked, heated, dehumidified room, its condition and the mileage shown on the clock, it must of been restored at some point in it's life but we have no history so make your own minds up.
Mechanically the motor fires easily and once warm soon settles to an even tick over. On the road again everything is good with that induction roar only an early 70s 350 Yamaha 2 stroke motor makes, that we all love. Brakes work as well as 1972 drum brakes can :-) clutch is smooth along with the gear box and all electrics work as designed. Just a great example of this iconic bike.
