- Extensive original paperwork
This superb, highly original 356 SC was supplied new in 1964 to its first owner Joe Lane in Asheville, North Carolina. Chassis 215 648 was ordered with a list of accessories including, special paint, chrome wheels, chrome side strips, outside mirror, floor mats, chrome horn ring, Blaupunkt radio- Koln, limited slip differential.
Joe Lane enjoyed the car for two years before selling to Balus Chastain, also a resident of NC in October 1966, an original receipt of the sale in the extraordinary history file.
Chastain kept detailed logs of pretty much every journey he took in his beloved SC until the mid 80’s when some remedial restoration work was undertaken. The car was then stored until the present owner acquired it from the family of the second owner in 2016.
During his ownership he has had it maintained by The Light Car Company and to this day it presents extremely well in its original specification of black over black. The engine is the original unit and the paperwork accompanying this SC consists of a very rare service book, a drivers manual, guarantee card for the radio, 2 notebooks of the journeys logs and various period correspondence and invoices.
With only one family owning the car for the majority of its life this is an exceptional opportunity to acquire one of the final versions of the groundbreaking 356 range.
