Description
A fast and purposeful Riley 12/ 4 Special, the donor car dating from April 1940 so therefore a very late car with the desirable manual gearbox.
This Riley has in the past been campaigned in many VSCC hillclimbs and sprints but will also be suitable for circuit racing or rallies such as the Flying Scotsman.
The engine has high lift cams, Arrow conrods, shell big ends, 8:1 compression, 1 9/ 16ths inlet valves and 1 1/ 4″ SUs. The gearbox is a Nuffield manual with close ratio gears and the rear axle is 4. 89:1.
The cockpit is large and spacious and suitable for the larger, taller driver. The seating and steering rake can be adjusted.
Having last been used `in anger` some ten years ago this Riley is ready for a new custodian and it`s next adventure.
