1935 Riley 12/ 4 Lynx (22T series)
One of the most desirable and sought after of all pre-war Rileys is the 12/ 4 Lynx. A comfortable and well-equipped sporting tourer, with the advantage of four doors, the Lynx has attractive lines and good performance. Available from the 1935 season, the Lynx was produced in relatively small numbers up until the Nuffield takeover in 1938.
The famous 12/ 4 engine was to appear late in 1934 and was to enjoy a long and illustrious career, powering a host of different models and achieving numerous successes in competition. With the twin high camshaft layout first used on the Riley Nine engine in 1926, the 12/ 4 power unit was of truly classic design and was still in use when the final RM series model ceased production in 1955.
This 1935 Lynx is the earlier 22T series and was refurbished some years ago.
Presenting well with recent hood, tonneau cover and hood bag, this Lynx runs well with good oil pressure.
The original Surrey registration number remains with the car.
A good, correct car ready for new adventures.
