Description
This Riley Special was originally a 1937 Riley Adelphi 12/ 4.
The bodywork was built in 2014 by Carrosseriebouw Jansen on an unschortened chassis and is entirely made of aluminium with a cast aluminium bulkhead. The car is equipped with an Armstrong Pre-selector gearbox that functions excellently
During the construction of the bodywork, all chrome parts were re-treated, the radiator was fitted with a new cooling block, the brake drums were turned out and the brake shoes were fitted with new friction material. The rims were blasted and powder coated, after which new Michelin 475/ 525x18 tyres were fitted.
After completion of the construction, the car has been driven about 700 miles, mainly pleasure trips, classic car events and some short map read rallies.
There is extensive documentation of the work carried out and parts purchased.
