We have had a large number of Impreza 22B’s through our doors, be it within our showroom where we have had many lovely 22B’s, including a 270 mile example, or within our workshop where we have restored multiple 22B’s for customers to a very high level. This is the best Type UK example we have seen to date.
This example is a superb offering, one for the serious collector.
History
Delivered to the first owner on the 6th of March 1999, this car has been well cared for & cherished ever since.
Being the Type UK, these cars were extremely hard to purchase, as the 22B had sold out pretty much instantly upon announcement.
The Type UK was desperately wanted by many, including people hoping to sell on for a profit due to the high demand, which Prodrive was hoping to avoid as much as possible.
Letters from Prodrive to the original owner are within the history file explaining the purchase process & how people were to be chosen to purchase these 16 UK cars.
All paperwork remains with the car, including the metal Type UK brochure/ book, Prodrive letters, original purchase invoice, even pictures of the car in the dealership when brand new ready for collection by the original owner, plus much more, giving this example excellent provenance & is a collectors dream.

Body & Paintwork
As you would fully expect, this 22B looks absolutely fantastic.
The wheels are still in original finish & the bodywork paint has recently benefited from a professional enhancement detail session.
Being the Type UK you will notice some minor differences to a non UK car, such as the headlamps, rear lamps with integrated fog light, front fog lamps (fog lamp covers are also with the vehicle) & the Type UK boot badges.
Badges are original, as are all trims & all lights.
No damage, no dings, just completely as Subaru intended.
The 22B to many people is much more than just a car, it is an absolute icon of the era & it is not hard to see why when looking at one in the flesh, the presence that a 22B has is unlike anything else, especially when it is in such condition as this example.
A truly great example!
Interior & Trim
The interior is absolutely fantastic.
Likewise, the pedal rubbers, gear knob, steering wheel & ‘satin’ finish of the dashboard are all in great condition.
All seats are in tremendous condition, with all bolsters maintaining the original shape with no signs of wear.
Likewise, the door cards, centre console, trims & switchgear all present very well indeed.
The keen eyed will note the correct original Type UK mats are still in place.
This example really is a step above the usual ‘nice examples’.
A true step back to 1999 in the greatest of forms.
Simple, effective & like new.
Engine
The 22B certainly needs no introduction, so we will not bore you with the factory figures or needless sales waffle.
What we will tell you is that this example has remained unmodified for the entirety of its mere 14, 078 miles.
The engine bay presents well & the car runs perfectly, as you would expect.
For piece of mind the car has undergone a full major service recently, this included the cambelt, pulleys, water pump, fluids & so on.
Running Gear
As per the rest of the car, all running gear is original without modifications.
The original wheels are still in place & are wearing premium tyres.
Running gear & the underbody of the car are in great original condition, the chassis is without any corrosion.
