Here we have a wonderful, highly original 997cc Morris Mini Cooper !
Supplied new and owned by Newsome & Co Ltd of Hyson Green, Nottingham before being supplied to the second owner in 1965 and then the 3rd in 1972 who owned the vehicle up to 2021! In total this vehicle has had just 4 former keepers from new to date with Classicwise having supplied it last time around ! In the history file, the original passport to service is present along with two further service books, drivers hand book, its original buff log book, heritage certificate, and various old MOT certificates and service documents. It also still retains its original Nottingham registration 351RTV which is also imprinted on all of the glass. The dealer fitted equipment is also still present including a parking light on the roof, front seat belts and its original dealer supplied numberplates !
This is an unrestored car and a true survivor having been recently subjected to a sympathetic recommission to the underside. The original chassis plate and separate original body number are still present and located correctly.
The recent recommission included removal of the original front and rear subframes & engine. The subframes were blasted and powder coated, the engine bay & engine were detailed and the radiator was also re-cored. A complete overhaul of the brakes was also completed with new cylinders, drums, pipes, hoses, callipers and rotors. All of this work was completed at the cost of over £8500 early this year.
As a result of all of the above this vehicle now an absolute joy to drive. It inspires confidence with every part of its driving experience and is ready for many more years of enjoyment to come.
