Description
As a summer of '64 Cooper Mark 1 1275S, DGW397B is one of the last of the famed 'dry suspension' Cooper 'S'.
Showing just three previous owners, unfortunately non traceable with current rules these days, she has had few keepers throughout.
Bought by myself as a restoration project I contacted Swiftune to arrange such.
We took her from the Almond/ White she had become by that time to her original colour scheme of OEW with a Black roof she presents as today.
Nick's team at Swiftune are legendary with their exploits at Goodwood etc and DGW does not let them down.
Just shy of 110bhp on the dyno when they rebuilt the engine, added to the lessons learned by Nick put into her suspension make her a rapid motorcar.
While any Cooper is a phenomenal handing car and allows a rate of travel across country which is hard to fathom for something so small, the set up of DGW in terms of Castor, Camber, spring rate etc has moved it to another level.
Whilst Swiftune will manufacture a Madgwick specification car to order, DGW remains the only such example that came from an original Cooper 'S'.
If you love Minis, you will want to elope with this one!
