Description
There's something so special about stock Volkswagen Beetles. They were designed for functionality, reliability and purpose.
The 1200 Beetle was released for people with a budget in mind. If you have a look at the original brochure below, you'll see "Economical", was the buzz word.
"The new VW 1200. The best VW ever made - for the money".
It was available in only 4 colours Ruby Red, VW Blue, Pearl White and Fontana Grey.
So let's talk about this Pearl White example. It was first registered on the 12th of July 1967 and for the last 31 years has belonged to the same family.
It was restored around 20 years ago and apart from a couple of little bruises, is in very nice and honest condition.
For the last 8 years, it's been kept in the garage and hasn't turned a wheel.
The family are now selling the property and loosing the garage. So have decided it would be nice for someone else to enjoy this very rare little bug.
This was the last model with those gorgeous sloping headlights.
You might have noticed the '66/'67 only steel wheels, which are reminiscent of the Porsche 356 steels, so really cool.
We're currently trying to find 2 hub caps, as 2 have been mislaid for some reason, but we'll endeavour to find some.
When you open the doors you'll see the interior is all original. In its beige basket weave seats, black carpets and if you look at the headliner, it only covers the centre roof area stopping before the door pillars and rear window surrounds. Again this is indicative of the 1200 model.
We will also have the bug serviced and mot'd after its period of inactivity.
Why not book a viewing at our North Devon showroom (Whilst having a cheeky couple of days away by the seaside) Or we can provide a walkround video and assist with national or international shipping.
