Offered here is a rare 1983 Reliant Simitar GTC, finished in Silver with Green velour interior. Displaying 96, 848 on the odometers and 6 former keepers. We indebted to the vendor for supplying the following information:
“Car was registered 03. 1983 and is now tax and MOT exempt.
The car is in very good mechanical condition. The history file displays bills and parts receipts for the last few years. The car was comprehensively recommissioned after being stored for several years by the previous owner and has parts bills for £2, 500 from Graham Walker, Chester, who did all the work.
The car has both a stainless steel exhaust and recent stainless steel petrol tank. The interior is in good condition with no major faults to the upholstery. The dashboard and fascia panels are in good condition which is unusual for a car of this age.
It has Middlebridge alloy wheels fitted, all of which are in good unscuffed condition but would benefit from a good polish. Tyres excellent, hardly worn matching set.
As is common with a forty year old fibreglass car, the paintwork could do with some attention as bubbles are starting to appear and the lacquer coat has failed in some areas.
It comes with a hard top with heated rear window and is in excellent condition both inside and out. The hood comes fitted to the car and is a genuine Reliant hood in good order with clear undamaged windows. There are only one or two very small areas of slight wear where the driver’s door frame fits the weather seals. All electrics work including seat belt warning lights, electric radio aerial and the very rare early electric door mirrors even work with a joystick control lever.”
Overall, this presents a fantastic opportunity to use and improve this quirky 80s classic. Address the paint and other minor cosmetics and you’ll have yourself a real show stopper. These rarely come to market so be sure not to miss this one.
