1939 BMW 327 Cabriolet One of BMW's most celebrated pre-war automobiles
Just Out of a Large European Collection and Available for Pickup in Europe
This 1939 BMW 327 Cabriolet is a matching numbers example that needs its restoration completed. Just out of a large European collection, it's currently dismantled and the body has been sandblasted. Complete work was done to the metal and wood structure and the body is protected by anti-rust paint. The engine is apart but complete and most importantly retains its correct matching number cylinder block. The seats are missing as are the instruments and some small items. New headlamps and taillamps will need to be sourced as well.
The BMW 327, introduced in 1937 as a cabriolet, represented a dramatic shift in design and capability compared to the earlier 326. Its design was sleek and sensual; body panels were shaped and placed by hand, creating an elegant shape that appeared to move even while the car was standing still. The car?s inline-six cylinder engine was enough to propel the car to a respectable 125 km/ h top speed. With its beautiful 1930s styling and legendary motor, the BMW 327 Cabriolet makes for a fantastic pre-war collectible.
