Description
The last example of the legendary E-Type rolled off the production line in Coventry in 1974. Its successor, the XJ-S, was to spearhead the fleet for even longer with a production time of over 20 years. The timeless design was created by in-house designer Malcolm Sayer. He had already designed the C-, D- and E-Type as well as the breathtaking XJ13. Initially, the XJ-S was only available with the aluminium V12, but towards the end of production it was also available with an in-line six-cylinder engine. There was a coupé, a convertible and only a few Targa versions. The Targa was practically a convertible with a roll bar, as the rear part of the roof could also be lowered. Various versions are therefore possible, for example with just an open hatch above the driver's seat. Of the 115, 000 vehicles built in total, only around 5, 000 were of this type. One of them for Princess Diana.
This vehicle was newly registered in Switzerland in 1987. Windsor Blue on the outside and Isis Blue on the inside form a subtle colour combination. The car is mechanically in very good condition and has been freshly inspected. The bodywork shows some signs of wear commensurate with the kilometres, but is in good, rust-free general condition. The engine is a replacement engine, which was fitted at 105, 000 kilometres. The replacement was carried out by a Jaguar specialist workshop. A generally beautiful and rare Jaguar, which is also suitable as a daily driver without any problems. Fresh from MFK and ready to drive.
