Description
I am selling my genuine 1963 BSA Rocket Gold Star. This machine is in A1 mint condition.
A brief synopsis, I have owned this machine since 1999. It has its original registration number still attached so this is still transferable, the ‘R’ designation on the number was only ever used in Derbyshire in 1963 again authenticating its originality,( I had this valued at 4. 5k a good few years back!!)
I did a complete nut and bolt restoration in 2001 using all stainless bolts and the chroming and paintwork was redone at the same time, Marque Restore did the chrome and Lewis Templeton did the paint, the receipt for paintwork is included.
I managed to source a genuine ‘DUETTO’ TLS front brake hub which are rarer then hens teeth and not cheap!!!!…. This was also fitted at the time.
In 2007 I had SRM in Aberystwyth do a complete bottom end rebuild with the quill feed conversion to the mains and big end with the roller bearing r/ h side main and Len Paterson of the cylinder head shop completely restored the cylinder head, (the correct RGS head as some are not), with new guides, valves seals etc: he also ported out the carb to suit… receipts for these are included in the paperwork…it has never been used since this work was done, it has sat in my dining room on display since then. There are another few bits of paperwork but nothing substantial also a few of the tax discs when it was on the road. All serious enquiries welcome.
