Description
A NOS Capri 2. 8 shell complete with bonnet, doors, boot, sunroof panel, all New Old Stock.
I have owned this since c. 2017 and has been in dry storage under cover ever since. It enjoyed similar care by the previous owner who bought it himself from Ford new.
Thoroughly waxoyled when first put into storage in 1987/ 88, it's a bit of an eye roll statement but must be said, where you see brown that you may think is rust... it's waxoyl.
The new genuine Ford panels were added to the assembly in the early 90's in the original cathodised black coating. Four years ago I have had them acid dipped and primed in 2pk primer and thoroughly waxoyled inside.
My intentions was to build my 2. 8i Special project into it (also for sale which is the plate used in this sale), however for years I toyed over this plan as to whether it would be a shame to actually build the shell or not, added to that, a wedding is on the horizon, priorities change drastically and will therefore leave that decision to the next owner.
The last photo shows the only damage done, a score in the primer on the NS front wing.
An extremely rare piece of automotive history. Count up the cost and time of sourcing NOS panels by themselves plus welding a shell or even buying new non genuine panels (each wing costing £1500) and the initial daunting price becomes realistic with the benefit of less man hours, 100% genuine and perfect panel gaps, in other words, a 0 mile shell.
