Description
One of the rarest and most sought after Fords, this is my 1979 Ford Capri 3. 0S. A very genuine standard car that retains its original features including uncut dash, original early Ford FM radio, standard original roll top comfort sport seats, NO SUNROOF, standard Ford alloy wheels, NOT RS ALLOYS as they were not fitted to this model in 1979.
These cars are becoming extremely rare and hard to find, the 3 litre Essex V6 will become an icon in its own right, having been used in early Mk1/ Mk2 and Mk3 Ford Capri's also used in Early Ford Granada's, an engine loved and used by hot rod/ car tuning enthusiasts for many years.
This Capri retains its original 4 speed gearbox, giving this car a real power punch when accelerating from stand still, second and third take this car up to a very respectable road speed with fourth gear giving you a thunderous high speed joy ride!
I have owned and loved this Capri for Fourteen years, during my ownership it has had much money spent on it, this is now classed as a historic vehicle so is tax and mot exempt.
First registered 31. 10. 1979 brings this Capri into the realms of what I would call the last of the true 3 litre Capri's, 1981 being the last year these iconic British muscle cars were built, I seriously doubt we will ever see cars like this again.
The condition is good for a 45 year old car, by no means perfect but it is all there, there is very little you will need to do to this Capri to make it useable again, a basic re-commission would be recommended.
I have the original Ford service book along with the owners handbook and supplement, this Capri also retains its original parcel shelf! This Capri has also been verified as an original 3. 0S Capri, not a lookalike or clone car, it is also HPI Clear! Yes I do have the certificate to prove.
The Ford Capri 3. 0S is a true Icon and piece of British motoring history, the sound and the way these cars drive is unique, if you have ever owned one of these you will know what I mean, you just can't beat the sound and grunt of the Ford Essex V6 engine.
I have priced this Capri realistically as I now need to sell, I really don't want to part with this car but sometimes in life you just have to move on, I know restored examples are making over 40K, this is an opportunity for someone to take this car to the next level as I intended.
This Capri is almost identical to Doyle's 3. 0S from series four of the Professionals - You Tube.
Might P/ X/ Realistic Offers Considered, this Capri starts runs and drives.
Anyone awake out there?! This is a low owner HPI clear 3. 0S Capri that starts runs and drives, rusty rotten examples been selling for 12995! Wakey wakey this is a genuine bargain for someone!
