Description
A very rare opportunity to acquire one of the most exacting replicas of the Lamborghini Countach you will find in the market place today. Those who understand anything about these replica cars will know that finding a replica of this high quality and standard, is near impossible. This example is truly unique, having been lovingly constructed in partnership with Mirage, over a 26 year Period, culminating in the car being IVA approved in 2016, and correctly registered as a ‘Mirage’. This wonderful replica remained in the builders ownership until June 2022…. some 32years!
Incredibly, the car has only covered 890 miles since 2016. Since then, the car has been lovingly maintained and dry stored to date. It is fair to say that this stunning replica is effectively a new car!... a true time capsule.
The car is a Mirage Mk1 with the earlier slightly lower roof. It was constructed by the builder and owner, Bruce Waller and in unison with Mirage (Phil Cheetham). It is thought to be one of the first Mk1, facelift 88. 5 versions produced by Mirage. Such was the length of time it took to build this car, Mk2 curved glass was fitted in the doors.
From inspection, the side skirts were a separate addition, over the usual curved sills.
The history of this car is detailed with photographs and receipts .
The body shell, said to have the exact dimensions of the real car, is fibre glass and is fitted over a space frame chassis; reportedly with a ‘Lee Noble’ influence. As a consequence the car does drive and handle superbly. The power comes from a very reliable Rover/ Buick 3. 5 litre V8 engine, normally aspirated, connecting to a Renault 30, 5-speed gear box.
Since in the current owner’s possession, the car has gone through sympathetic detailing, both inside and out, to exacting standards. The cock pit was fully refreshed with additional period features added. Interior dressing of the engine bay, the boot and bonnet areas were also completed to make the car truly stand out.
Other great features include electric side windows, original 25th Anniversary Countach seats, Mammitte ANSA exhausts and new period ‘Roin’ alloy wheels, in spectrum gold.
This has to be one of the nicest finished and most detailed replicas of the Lamborghini Countach you will find…. truly stunning….
The car has two sets of Keys and a fresh 12month MOT.
A cautionary note:, for those who know these cars, will appreciate the very tight cockpit area. If you are over 5'10" and a pound or two too heavier than you should be, you will not fit into this car .... sorry to burst anyone bubble.. lol
