Description
A very nice imported left hand drive 1931 Model A Ford Tudor.
I inherited this from my step dad in Florida. He kept it polished and maintained to pretty good standard. He entered local Florida classic car shows and won quite a few trophies. The car is in very good condition but not immaculate. Starts and runs good. Doesn’t smoke or make any noises that it shouldn’t. Everything works .. windup windows front and back, front opening windscreen, windscreen wiper, lights, brake lights, turn signals, ah oogah horn, hand crank starter as well as electric start, and spare wheel in excellent condition. Battery less than a year old on tender. The interior is in good condition with folding seats to a spacious rear seat. Front dash has a speedometer, ammeter, fuel gauge, odometer and an interior dash light. Interior is good - v. good condition with insulated rubber floor covering.“Betsy”, as my mom used to call it, gets a large amount of attention and interest. The half dozen times I’ve driven and parked it would attract alot of questions and people taking pics. Betsy has that lovely flathead four exhaust note and period correct aah ogah horn sound.
As mentioned the car is in very good but not immaculate condition so things that could do with a look are maybe the windscreen wiper which has perished and the clutch has occasional judder.
Hopefully Betsy will go to an enthusiast who will drive and show it. All parts for Model A’s are quite readily available. They were also produced here in the UK, with differences being left hand drive and a slightly larger engine for the American market. Soo they are a reasonable and practical vintage car to own.
