Vintage 1929 Austin 7 Ulster Replica sold for restoration. Registered on the Current new V5c registration log book as a 1929 Austin Sports the car features correct sports type lowered front axle with radius arms dropped on lowering links and flat springs front and rear. At the back is a matching 1929 / 30 'screw-in' torque tube back axle with longer links 'a la' original sports for the shock absorbers. The engine, which turns by hand but has not been started, is of the more desirable early 'vintage' coil ignition type mated to a correct 1929 1930 three speed gearbox. An attractive bronze updraught Solex carb similar to the type fitted to original ulsters provides the mixture via an alloy sports inlet manifold from an original 1929 fuel tank. Exhaust gases would presently be emitted via a tubuar stub-piped manifold! The steering is raked to suit the sports body and uses a stronger more desirable cast iron box. Body is a Gould type replica and very tough. Seats and dash are usable but rudimentry. The car sits on 17 inch wheels and 4. 00-17 tyres. With chassis and engine numbers both matching the numbers on the v5c registration document this is a great winter project. Only being sold as a new project has arrived.
