Description
Registered on the 1st August 1982, this is a very early low mileage Mk1 Metro automatic, with 20485 miles on the clock.
Finished in Zircon blue with beige interior, known to all who know her as Hilda. She spent most of her life garaged, and this is evident with how well the car have been persevered.
She has a particularly sweet engine and automatic gearbox, which work beautifully. Gear changes are exceptionally smooth, giving her sprightly performance, which is perfect for nipping around town, equally she is very happy on a longer motorway journey.
The bodywork is in very good condition, with the underbody having been undersealed from new and was crown wax-oiled by the previous owner. There is some rust starting on the roof gutters and front wings, but this is at a stage where it can be easily rectified.
The paintwork is bright and still presentable, but is showing it's age with some crazing on the roof, but this doesn't distract from a cracking little car which would sparkle in any classic car show line up. I've owned the car just over 2 years, and it has been a joy to have her, and I shall miss the regular experience of people pointing, and grinning with delight at the sight of a happy metro on the road.
The car comes with an extensive service history, including the original sales invoice. The car has benefited from regular servicing, and most recently this summer a complete set of reconditions hydragas units, fitted by the Kennedys, giving the car an as new ride. The car has also had a full brake system overhaul, with rebuilt front callipers.
I'm asking £2895 for a piece of pure 80's joy. please feel free to contact me if you have any queries.
