Description
1967 Lotus Elan S4.
This Lotus Elan has remained in the same family for over 40 years. We are also told that originally the car was painted in the Gold Leaf colour scheme from the factory, at request of the original buyer. This is represented in the history file and am told this was extremely important to the history of the car as it was a personal request.
During the family’s ownership this Lotus benefited from a complete chassis off restoration. The photos show the body off, a brand new chassis, engine fully rebuilt with gearbox, differential and running ancillaries all restored.
Receipts in the file are from specialists such as Kelvedon Lotus, Burton power & performance, Butler garage and engineering, Christopher Neil sportscars who are now Oakmere Lotus. For example the pistons, rings, conrods, cams were all supplied from Kelvedon Lotus. It’s worth looking up Kelvedon who race / restore Lotus such as Elan 26r, 23b, elite and the europa 47GT.
We are told this car was passed between the same family during a 40 year ownership period, and despite being restored was rarely used and ultimately, reluctantly sold out of the family. This gives an extremely exciting opportunity to own a period correct restored Lotus Elan which retains its brochure and original parts supplied by Lotus in period.
Now it’s time for the next journey to begin. To book a viewing or request more photos, please get in touch.
